About Hero Havoc
Hero Havoc is an independent, free-to-play superhero survival game that runs entirely in your browser. No download, no account, no paywall.
Hero Havoc started as a single arcade idea: hold a comic-book city against endless waves of goofy monsters, then a giant boss shows up. It has grown into a twelve-hero roster, four themed arenas, mid-run upgrades, temporary weapons, permanent Hero Lab boosts, difficulty levels and online co-op for up to four players.
What we care about
Original characters
Every hero, villain and boss in Hero Havoc is our own creation, with its own name, art, abilities and personality. Nothing is borrowed from another franchise.
Kid-friendly action
Bright comic-book violence only: no blood, no gore, no scary imagery. Defeated monsters bounce off with cartoon stars.
Instant play
The game loads in a browser tab on a phone or a laptop. Your progress saves on your device, so you can close the tab and come back later.
Built in the open
Hero Havoc is a web app: React for the interface, an HTML5 canvas game engine, and data-driven hero, enemy, weapon and upgrade tables so new content can be added quickly.
What is next
We are working on daily challenges, shareable end-of-run results and more progression, plus a player-versus-player mode that is still in testing and not yet released. Shipped changes are listed on the game updates page.
