Bosses & Survival Tips
A boss-tier villain arrives every fifth wave with a warning banner, a full health bar and guaranteed drops. These are the bosses currently in Hero Havoc, how they behave, and how to beat them.
Boss-tier villains
Cog Sergeant
Mini-boss
- 320 health
- 16 damage per hit
- speed 62
- 25 coins
- 45 XP
Cog Sergeant arrives with a normal wave still on the floor. Clear the small monsters first, then kite the Sergeant in a wide circle — it is faster than a Rust Tank but turns slowly.
Tentacle Professor
Boss
- 1500 health
- 20 damage per hit
- speed 58
- 150 coins
- 200 XP
Tentacle Professor is the wave 5 wall. Never fight it in a corner: it has a large body radius and will pin you. Keep a weapon crate in reserve and unload it once the Professor commits to a lunge.
Sand Colossus
Boss
- 1750 health
- 22 damage per hit
- speed 52
- 180 coins
- 230 XP
Sand Colossus has the biggest body of the early bosses and the hardest hits. Stay at range, use pierce weapons like the Laser Rifle so you damage it and any adds in the same line, and never walk between it and a wall.
Volt Tyrant
Boss
- 1900 health
- 21 damage per hit
- speed 60
- 190 coins
- 240 XP
Volt Tyrant is the fastest boss and closes distance quickly. Freeze Ray is close to a hard counter here — the slow buys you the seconds you need. Use your special the moment your health drops below half, not after.
Venom Bloom
Boss
- 2000 health
- 19 damage per hit
- speed 40
- 200 coins
- 250 XP
Venom Bloom is the slowest but has the most health, so wave 20 becomes an endurance fight. Take health-based upgrades on the way there, keep moving in a wide orbit, and save a Rocket Launcher for when adds cluster around it.
The monsters around them
Shuffler
- 30 health
- 8 damage
- speed 52
The basic monster. Harmless alone, dangerous in a block — pull them into a line before you attack.
Runner
- 18 health
- 6 damage
- speed 128
Very fast and very fragile. Deal with these first or they will chip you while you fight something bigger.
Rust Tank
- 130 health
- 14 damage
- speed 42
Slow and heavily armoured. Walk away from it and kill everything else, then finish it at your leisure.
Splitter
- 46 health
- 8 damage
- speed 66
Splits when defeated, so never kill one while surrounded. Kill it in open space.
Goo Thrower
- 40 health
- 7 damage
- speed 58
- ranged
Ranged. This is the enemy that ends runs — close the gap or kill it first, do not trade shots with it.
General boss-wave rules
- 1. Arrive healthy. Clear wave 4, 9, 14 and 19 slowly and pick up every health drop before the boss banner appears.
- 2. Keep the centre. Bosses have huge bodies. Fighting near a wall removes your escape route.
- 3. Hold one weapon crate. Enter the boss wave carrying an unused weapon so you can burst it down when it is exposed.
- 4. Kill the adds, not the boss, when low. Health pickups come from ordinary monsters.
- 5. Bring Second Wind. The Hero Lab revive turns one mistake into a continued run.
