Best Weapons for Boss Waves in Hero Havoc

Weapon crates give limited-ammo weapons that fire alongside your hero's own attack. Holding the right crate for a boss wave can cut the fight in half.

The four weapons

Laser Rifle: 60 ammo, 16 damage, very fast fire, piercing. Energy Sword: 40 ammo, 45 damage huge close-range slashes that pierce four monsters. Freeze Ray: 50 ammo, 12 damage, pierces two and slows monsters by half. Rocket Launcher: 18 ammo, 60 damage per rocket plus splash damage.

Tentacle Professor (wave 5)

Rocket Launcher is the best choice — fire it while the Professor recovers from its arm charge. The Laser Rifle is a safe alternative. See the Tentacle Professor guide.

Sand Colossus (wave 10)

Laser Rifle: piercing bolts hit the Colossus and the adds lined up with it, and the fast fire rate lets you shoot while constantly moving to avoid its eruptions. Avoid the Energy Sword — its 22-damage hits are the hardest of the early bosses. See the Sand Colossus guide.

Volt Tyrant (wave 15)

Freeze Ray is close to a hard counter for the fastest boss: the slow buys time to step off lightning lines and out of Energy Cages. A Rocket Launcher is excellent during its stun after Overcharge. See the Volt Tyrant guide.

Venom Bloom (wave 20)

Rocket Launcher, saved for when the bloom opens during Bloom Burst — it takes extra damage while open — or when adds cluster around it. See the Venom Bloom guide.

Hero pairings

Close-range heroes like Titan and Prowler get the most from the Energy Sword. Heroes without pierce, such as Arachnyx, Starborn and Wildcard, benefit most from the Laser Rifle. Read Best Hero and Weapon Combinations and the Weapons & Upgrades reference.
