Hero Havoc Boss Wave Strategy: Beat Waves 5, 10, 15 and 20

Boss waves are where most runs end. Every boss follows readable patterns — and the preparation you do on the wave before matters as much as the fight itself.

Prepare on the mini-boss wave

The wave before each boss includes a Cog Sergeant mini-boss. Clear it carefully and collect every health drop before the boss banner appears. If you are carrying a weapon crate, keep it for the boss.

The four bosses at a glance

Wave 5 — Tentacle Professor: arm sweeps, bolt rings and a charge; stay central. Wave 10 — Sand Colossus: sandstorm spirals and an eruption beneath you; never stop moving. Wave 15 — Volt Tyrant: lightning lines and Energy Cages, then a stun after Overcharge; read the floor. Wave 20 — Venom Bloom: vines, Spore Clouds and Bloom Burst; hit it while it is open. In Endless the same four bosses repeat in order.

Use the space

Bosses have large bodies. Fighting near walls or cover removes your escape routes, so keep the boss in the open and circle around it.

Timing your special

Specials hit hardest when several targets are close together, or when a boss is stunned or exposed. Wait for those moments — but never hold the special so long that you lose with it unused.

When you are low on health

Health pickups come from ordinary monsters, not the boss. If you are low, switch to clearing adds until you recover, then return to the boss. For weapon advice, see Best Weapons for Boss Waves.
