How to beat Venom Bloom

Venom Bloom is the slowest but has the most health, so wave 20 becomes an endurance fight. Take health-based upgrades on the way there, keep moving in a wide orbit, and save a Rocket Launcher for when adds cluster around it.

Appears: Wave 20 — the final boss of a 20-wave run — and every 20 waves in Endless (40, 60…).

About the boss

Venom Bloom is the slowest boss but has the most health at 2,000, hitting for 19 and rewarding 200 coins and 250 XP. As the wave 20 boss it decides whether a run ends in victory. Its patterns slowly fill the arena with hazards, but each Bloom Burst also opens its petals — and while open it takes extra damage.

Attacks and mechanics

Vine Grab

Creeping vines crawl along the floor toward the hero.

Spore Clouds

Colourful slow zones puff out around the arena.

Bloom Burst

Petals open and fire a ring of seeds; while open, it takes extra damage.

How to avoid its attacks

  • Walk perpendicular to approaching vines rather than away from them.
  • Do not route through Spore Clouds — the slow makes you easy prey for vines and adds.
  • Find a gap in the seed ring, then punish the open bloom immediately.

Flamewing
