Hero Havoc Co-op Guide – CPU Partners and Online Rooms

Hero Havoc can be played solo, with a CPU partner, or online with up to four players in a room. Waves grow with the size of the team, so co-op is not automatically easier — it rewards teamwork.

Playing with a CPU partner

On the hero select screen you can choose a CPU partner after picking your own hero. The partner fights alongside you with its own hero kit. It is a good way to try co-op hero pairings before playing with friends.

Creating and joining online rooms

The host creates a room and receives a six-character room code to copy or share. Friends enter the code to join, pick a hero and mark themselves ready. The host chooses the difficulty and the wave mode — 20 Waves or Endless — and starts the run when everyone is ready. Rooms hold up to four heroes and expire when no longer used.

The host's game is authoritative: it runs the monsters and resolves damage, while other players send their movement and special presses. If a player's connection drops briefly, they can rejoin the room.

Bigger waves, shared danger

Each extra player increases the number of monsters in a wave, and boss waves add more adds per player. Stacking every hero on one spot lets the bigger wave surround the whole team. Instead, split the arena: take opposite sides so monsters are pulled in different directions.

Revives

In co-op, a downed hero is revived after a short timer, and the run ends only when every hero is down at the same time. When a teammate falls, the surviving player's job is simply to stay alive — kite in wide loops, use your special defensively, and wait for the revive.

Team roles and pairings

Controller + damage: Hydro or Flamewing pushes monsters into a pile, while Starborn or Wildcard unloads into it. Anchor + skirmisher: Titan holds the middle while Thunderborn or Prowler picks off stragglers. Two ranged heroes such as Arrowstorm and Warden make a safe team on higher difficulties.

Boss waves together

Stagger your specials. When one player's special ends, the next player fires theirs, so there is never a long gap in pressure. Let one player focus the adds while the other focuses the boss. Read the boss strategy hub for each boss's patterns.
